Which scholarships will you offer in 2021?

We are providing youth in need with lightly used instruments that have been donated to the foundation. Learn more.

Musical Mentor Scholarships

We are offering packages of virtual lessons over the internet for youth who are at home due to Covid-19. Learn more.

Skybird Scholarships

We look forward to awarding Skybird Scholarships if/when the Covid-19 situation allows for a safe experience. Learn more.

Who is eligible for scholarships?

Youth ages 6-18 who live in New Mexico are eligible for Starlight Instrument Scholarships and Musical Mentor Scholarships.

Youth ages 8-14 who live in New Mexico are eligible for Skybird Scholarships.

How can I apply for a scholarship?

Each scholarship has a different application. To apply, go to the page of the scholarship you are interested in.

How does the foundation select which applications will receive scholarships?

Our board members will review applications. When we have a surplus of applications that meet our requirements, applications will be selected through a drawing.

How can I donate an instrument?

We are accepting new or used instruments of all types. In some cases, we are able to repair instruments with light wear/damage. Please email us about any instruments you would like to donate at info@skyvelvetvassar.com.
