Starlight Instrument Scholarships

The Starlight Instrument Scholarship grew out of our original Velvet Cello Scholarship, which awarded cellos to three music students across New Mexico. We have expanded that idea to include an ever-changing variety of new and used instruments. Any New Mexico youth as well as school or community music programs serving musicans ages 18 and under may apply.

LP Congas

These Classic Series wooden congas were made in Thailand by Latin Percussion.

Bundy II Flute

This closed-hole Bundy II flute was made by Selmer and has a C footjoint and inline G. It comes with a velvet-lined hard case.

Conn Trumpet

This is a Conn B♭ trumpet with a velvet-lined hard case, mouthpiece, valve oil and 2 sheet music clips (for marching band).

Pearl Travel Congas

These congas are portable and ready for travel! They come with stands and each have a soft case. Made in Thailand by Pearl.

Kay Cello

Made by Kay, this 3/4-size cello and comes with a soft case and bow.

Emerson Flute

This Flute, made by Emerson U.S.A, has an offset G and a C footjoint. It is a closed-hole student flute and comes with a velvet-lined hard case and cleaning rod.

Silvertone Bass

A Silvertone Model SSLB-11/BK Electric Bass in Black.

Guild Guitar

This acoustic six-string Guild guitar is a D4-NT model made in Westerly, RI. It comes with a hard case and a clip-on tuner.

Bundy Flute

This Selmer Bundy closed-hole flute features a C footjoint and offset G. It comes with a velvet-lined hard case.

Olds Trumpet

This Olds B♭ Trumpet sports 5 mouthpieces and comes with a velvet-lined hard case, tuning slide grease and valve oil.

Eastman Violin

This Model VL80 1/10 size violin was made by Eastman Strings, Inc. It comes with a foam core case and a bow, rosin, and shoulder rest.

Vito Clarinet

A Leblanc Vito Reso-Tone student B♭ clarinet with a medium-large bore for easy playing. It comes with a velvet-lined hard case, a Sumner Acousticut professional mouthpiece and mouthpiece cover, 2 sheet music clips (for marching band) and cork grease.

Karl Knilling Violin

A full-size violin. Includes a bow, rosin, and a pitch pipe.

Lucida Guitar

A Model LG-510354 3/4 size Classical Guitar made by Lucida.

Yamaha Flute

This Yamaha YFL-381 open-hole flute with a silver head and silver-plated body comes with a velvet-lined case and a padded case cover. It features an inline G and a B footjoint with a gizmo key, and also comes with 2 hole plugs.

Kiso Suzuki Violin

A Kiso Suzuki Violin Co. 1/8 Size Violin. It comes with a velvet-lined hard case. Made in Japan.

LP Practice Pads

Two practice pads with an ornate soft case, made in Thailand by Latin Percussion.
